This is the greatest amount ever generated on a first day of sale by an entertainment product, outstripping any film, music or previous videogame launch.
Best-Selling Videogame

With lifetime sales of 45.7 million copies between its launch in 2006 and May 2009, the best-selling videogame of all time is Nintendo’s Wii Sports, which came led with the Wii console.
Best-Selling Rhytm Game Series

Guitar Hero (Red Octane, 2005) had seen total sales of over 32 million units between November 2005 and June 2009.
Best Selling Console Real-Time Strategy Game

Of the current generation of consoles, the best-selling Real-Time Strategy game is Halo Wars 9Microsoft, 20090, which had notched up global sales of 1.21 million as of May 2009.
Highest Cash Prize Awarded in a Mod Tournament


The Sendi Mutiara Multimedia Grand National DotA Tournament, which took place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on 22-23 November 2008, had a prize fund of 120,000 Malaysian ringgits (£21,000;$35,000). The tournament saw competitors from seven countries compete on the War craft III “Defense of the Ancients”. Team Ehome from China emerged as champions, pocketing RM36,000 (£6,000;$10,500) in cash along with other prizes.

With a character model that consists of 32,816 rendered polygons during game play, the most detailed videogame character is Lara Croft in her Tomb Raider: Underworld (Eidos Interactive, 2008) incarnation.

A group of gamers, supported by online gaming leagues website Stryxa.com, recorded the longest marathon playing, a football videogame when they played FIFA 10 (EA SPORTS, 2009) FOR 24 HOURS AT Victoria Station, London, UK, from 27 to 28 January 2009.
Fastest-Selling Multi-Playing Game (RPG)

Bethesda’s multi-platform RPG Fallout 3 sold over 4.7 million copies in its first week on sale from 28 October to 4 November 2008.
Most Powerful Flight Simulator

Described as “a next generation military simulation synthetic environment”, the Semaphore Howard, produced by Link Simulation and Training (USA) for clients including the United States Air Force (USAF), is the most powerful flight simulation system in the world. The USAF version simulates an f-16 fighter jet and runs on 120 dual core PCs, each of which contains a $400 (£250) graphics card, allowing for 10,000 onscreen objects to be displayed simultaneously.

On 2 June 2009, Us punk pop band The Dares (Ben Peterson, Matt Peterson and Martin Lascano) performed the first music concert to take place in both the real world and in a virtual space. 13 June 2009: Lisa Courtney (UK) was found to have 12,113 different items of pokemon memorabilia.

Good post for game freaks and lovers.Games are now depicting real life so originally that no doubt people are now going crazy for them,specially credit goes to sleek and sophisticated graphics and after that the game plans,strategy,tactics included in the game and sometimes they also overcome the graphics too.

having watched my son playing some of these games, i can confirm that they are very powerful and realistic
